Website and renderings unveiled for Ross-Ade Stadium renovation

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Wednesday, August 31) – The future of Boilermaker Football’s home has become a hot topic as Purdue Athletics unveiled renderings, plans and construction timelines for the next Phase 1 of the Ross-Ade Stadium renovation.

Originally announced on April 8, the initial $45.4 million phase will strategically enhance several areas of student-athlete and fan experience across the Ross-Ade footprint, creating an unparalleled playing environment for generations. future Boilermakers.

Phase 1 construction is expected to begin following the completion of Purdue Football’s 2022 season and will include:
– Added south end area, with dedicated student section and “All-American” marching band seats
– Kozuch Football Performance Complex (KFPC) player entrance directly at pitch level
– Student-Athlete Dining Hall, enhancing nutritional support for Boilermaker student-athletes
– New premium seating opportunities, with more information to come

“The additions and renovations to Ross-Ade Stadium will enhance the student-athlete experience on and off the field,” said Purdue Football head coach Jeff Brohm. “The South Zone Bowl will create an exciting atmosphere that will extend throughout the stadium. A new state-of-the-art dining facility located directly across from our training facility will make it easy and convenient for our guys to get nutritional meals. Having the chance to see the renders, I’m thrilled that our players and fans will benefit from these renovations once they’re complete.

The long-awaited addition of the South Zone will connect the east and west sides of the stadium in its 100th anniversary season, creating a complete bowl. The south end zone and southeast sideline will serve as the new location for student seating, with Ross-Ade Stadium maintaining the second-highest percentage of student capacity in the Big Ten conference. Improvements to the student section will include the addition of a new entrance area for Tyler Trent students, safe standing seating, patio and deck areas, rail seating and improved concessions. Additionally, the south end zone will include an area dedicated to the “All-American” marching band.

The bowl completion will feature an expansive lobby, which allows for a more accessible fan experience and includes an additional elevator for ADA access as well as an additional restroom. The western corner of the southern end zone will also feature a new premium experience for fans to enjoy.

The new stadium entrance for Purdue Football will create an iconic experience for student-athletes in the program, while providing a new level of excitement for fans in attendance. The entrance aims to improve player safety, game day ambiance and its unique design provides an added advantage based on recruiting.


Completing the first phase of the renovations will be the student-athlete dining facility added to the northeast side of Ross-Ade, located across John R. Wooden Drive from KFPC. The 150-person capacity nutrition center will feature a full production kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating, and an architectural style that complements KFPC.
