Thousands of Thurston County students eat free and reduced-price school lunches during the school year. But when school ends, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in Washington wants families to know how to continue getting free meals through the annual summer food service program.

Unlike the school meals program, the summer dining program can be used by anyone 18 years of age or younger. OSPI noted that the program is funded by the federal government and statewide nonprofits, schools, and tribes.
