Alyssea Orme feels at home in her role as Head of 5 Star Nutrition.

The store has been open in the mall across from Port Arthur Lowe’s since February.

Orme said the storefront is more than a place for vitamins and supplements.

“It’s much more in-depth and involved in our clients’ goals,” she said. “Our mission is to help people achieve their goals and to accompany them throughout the process. They come to give us a glimpse of what they are working on. We make a plan for them that’s tailored to what they’re doing.

The location also has an on-site machine that allows employees to determine muscle mass, body fat percentage, and metabolism.

“They can see the science behind what they’re doing,” Orme said. “Let’s say they’re a weight loss client and they want to lose 40 pounds. They come back every two weeks and we look at everything and make adjustments along the way. We’re with them in this process. start working here, I had never heard of anything like that.

Orme said the first few months have gone well, but added that she wants people to know where the store operates.

“It went well, for sure,” she said. “We continue to make our name known. This is the main. I love seeing the customers and how excited they are. Earlier I had a client who lost 6 pounds. in two weeks. He was so happy. Yes, it’s just the fitness side of their life, but you are literally helping to change their life.

The manager was able to connect personally with customers through her own fitness journey.

“I fell into an eating disorder,” Orme said. “It was to one spectrum and then to the other. I would starve myself like crazy, then binge and binge on everything you can think of. A lot of emotional hell in my life led me to this. I got sick of being sick and tired and feeling like this. I started being consistent in the gym and changing things up over time.

Seeing the changes in her own body and in her life made her want to help others achieve their goals.

“People don’t just have an eating disorder,” she said. “There are things that lead to this. I have a lady coming and we connected immediately. She was crying and telling me she was happy to have someone to talk to who understands. It is important. I can go in and run a process and sell a product, but if I don’t care about the customer, I’m not doing my job. »
