The fourth edition of the “Nutrition Fortnight” was launched by the Department of Women and Child Development at district, block and village levels in the state on Monday.
Many rallies including “Suposhan Rath”, “Poshan Cycle Rally” and a bicycle rally have been held across the state to raise awareness about nutrition. Efforts will be made to bring about nutrition-related behavior change at the individual and community level by holding different activities every day across the state, officials said.
The main focus of the nutrition fortnight this year is activities focused on identifying the healthy child and integrating traditional and modern resources for building a healthy India, officials said. The cooperation of public officials, allied departments, organizations, groups and the public will also be taken.
Within this framework, community activities will be organized to raise awareness about nutrition. In addition, sensitization activities will be organized on gender sensitive water management, prevention and management of anemia and promotion of traditional diet to promote good health of mother and child. in tribal areas.
