Leamington, ON – After tripling the size of the business at its original site in Leamington over the past 2 years, Pure Flavor® has begun construction of a new 40-acre (16 ha) fully lit high-tech facility as well a new 210,000 square foot centralized distribution center on the same site. Half of the new greenhouse (20 acres) will be dedicated to supporting the company’s organic programs.
“Our year-over-year growth has prompted us to rapidly expand our square footage and distribution network to meet the needs of our retail and foodservice customers,” said Jamie Moracci, President. Pure Flavor®’s organic program continues to experience significant growth with the recent addition of Organic Roma Tomatoes and Organic Cocktail Tomatoes to its line in late 2021. With now 11 different organic items available year-round, the company can now support all program purchases regardless of the season.
“The investments we are making in our infrastructure will ensure that we are well positioned to continue to support our strategic plan to not only expand our business reach, but also increase operational efficiency. When completed in late fall 2022, the new centralized packing station distribution center will support the entire Phase 1-4 campus which covers 115 acres of lighted greenhouse vegetable production that will expand throughout the year,” commented Moracci.
