Street Play event planned for downtown Fremont
FREMONT — The Sandusky County Park District Street Play Saturday event will take place on Front Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 17, along with the Front Street Live Cornhole Tournament. Participation in the market is free for the public.
The Street Play Saturday event will feature free and inclusive activities promoting health, recreation and fitness across the market, including fingerprinting for kids, bike safety, nutrition games and more. Interactive activities will include an obstacle course, yoga, cardio drumming and more. Street Play Saturday Event Passports can be picked up at the Downtown Fremont Inc. tent at the intersection of Front and Garrison streets. Be sure to visit each activity to earn a stamp to fill out the passport. Once the passport is completed, attendees can return to the Downtown Fremont Inc. tent to enter a raffle to win a $100 Think Fremont Community Card.
The Front Street Live Cornhole Tournament will host the final tournament of the year, including a PRO and social tournament. Registration and payment can be completed at frontstreetlivecornhole.com or on the day of the event beginning at 9 a.m. for two-person teams.
Larry Michaels will discuss a book about McPherson Cemetery
CLYDE — Author Larry Michaels will discuss his book “History of McPherson Cemetery and Burials” at 7 p.m. Tuesday during a symposium at the Clyde Museum, 124 W. Buckeye St.
The contents of the book will be discussed, dealing with famous and significant people who were buried there during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Museum parking is available in the large parking lot of the former First Financial Bank at the corner of West Buckeye and George Streets, in the alley parking lots behind the museum and on the street.
Culver’s will hold a benefit for the Ottawa County Humane Society
OREGON — Culver’s Restaurant will host a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Ottawa County from noon to 4 p.m. Monday and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at their store at 2866 Navarre Ave., Oregon.
Culver’s donates 10% of all sales to the Humane Society. This includes dinner and take-out service.
