Emilio Rene Montero, coordinator of the National Food and Nutrition Security Commission, travels to El Salvador to review the results of the Mexican Sembrado Vida (Sowing Life) project

By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The coordinator of the National Food and Nutrition Security Commission, Emilio Rene Montero, is on a technical visit to El Salvador from June 1 to 3, 2022 to review the results of the Mexican Sembrando Vida (Sowing Life) project, the Ministry of Health said. Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE).

MAFSE said the visit to Montero was to get a first-hand experience of the results that beneficiaries in El Salvador have achieved through the Sembrando Vida project in Mexico. Belize participates in the Mexican project initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The objective of the program is to provide jobs for Central American and Mexican workers in their own country so that they do not have to migrate.

The Montero tour includes visits to plots, nurseries and bio-factories in San Salvador and San Miguel.

MAFSE said the visit is being facilitated by the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (Amexcid) through its General Directorate for the Execution of Special International Cooperation Projects.
